Quarante ans plus tard, un avocat contacte le maire de Gotha pour négocier le prix de la restitution des tableaux.
1979. Gotha in der DDR. Fünf Gemälde holländischer Meister werden nachts aus dem Barockschloss Friedenstein, das über der mittelalterlichen Kleinstadt thront, entwendet. Die Kriminalpolizei und die Stasi verfolgen zahlreiche Spuren und führen über tausend Verhöre durch - ohne Ergebnis. Vierzig Jahre später kontaktiert ein Anwalt den Bürgermeister von Gotha, um über den Preis für die Rückgabe der Gemälde zu verhandeln.
1979. Gotha, in the GDR. Five paintings by Dutch masters are stolen overnight from the Baroque Friedenstein Castle, which overlooks the small medieval town. The criminal investigation department and the Stasi followed numerous leads and conducted more than a thousand interrogations, to no avail. Forty years later, a lawyer contacts the mayor of Gotha to negotiate the price for the return of the paintings.
