A week has passed since Nagasawa-kun’s house burned to the ground. Maruko and the others go with him to see the ruins, and once again they feel the horror of fire. Since his father has returned to the family home and his mother is in the hospital, the children worry about how Nagasawa-kun is living—but then they meet his unexpectedly wonderful grandfather, and everyone breathes a little easier.
永沢くんの家が火事で全焼してから一週間が過ぎた。永沢くんと一緒に焼け跡を見に行ったまる子たちは、改めて火事を恐ろしさを知る。永沢クンのお父さんは実家に帰り、お母さんは入院中なので、永沢クンの生活を心配するが、想像よりずっと立派なおじいちゃんがいてみんなは一安心する。
