第64話 「まるちゃんの水栽培」の巻

The whole class begins growing hyacinths in water. Since Maruko’s bulb is the very first to sprout, she becomes determined that hers will be the first to bloom as well. Then Chi-chan from next door asks for help starting one too, and before long Maruko finds herself foster-parent to two hyacinth bulbs—one at school and one at home.

クラス全員でヒヤシンスの水栽培を始めた。まる子の球根が一番最初に芽を出したので、こうなったら一番に花を咲かせたいと願う。お隣りに遊びに来ていたチーちゃんにも頼まれて水栽培を始め、まる子は、学校と家の二つの球根の育ての親となった。
