Depuis 1987, l'anthropologue Pierre-Jacques Dusseau, qui travaille dans les prisons, collectionne des objets fabriqués par des détenus. Refusés par les musées d'ethnographie, ces objets du quotidien et créations artistiques prennent la poussière dans son grenier. Chacun a une histoire qui éclaire différemment les institutions pénitentiaires et personne ne la raconte mieux que lui.
